The Singapore Speak Good English Movement Inaugural Comedy Night 2026, titled“Speak Good, Laugh Better”, presented the Speak Good English Movement in a fresh, engaging and contemporary format through stand-up comedy. Held at The Lemon Stand, the physical event used humour to show that good English is not only about grammar and pronunciation, but also about communication, audience awareness, wit, code-switching and the ability to connect meaningfully with others.
The evening featured a lively comedy showcase hosted by Sharul, with performances by Don Shiau, Jacky Ng and headliner Rishi Budhrani. Through a casual, entertaining and highly relatable format, the event created a memorable way for audiences to engage with the Movement’s message while enjoying a night of laughter, language and local humour.
