Presented by the Straits Time and the Speak Good English Movement, with the support of the Ministry of Education, the Inspiring Teacher of English Teaching Award recognises teachers who have been instrumental in igniting a love for English and are effective in teaching their students to communicate well. This is a national award for teachers of English in Singapore schools.

This award has two categories – the Teaching Award and the Leadership Award. It is open to all in-service teachers of English Language, Literature in English and General Paper from primary, secondary and integrated programme schools, centralised institute and junior colleges. Each year, a maximum of 10 “Inspiring Teacher of English – Teaching and Leadership Awards” will be presented.
