This year’s International Museum Day Symposium, themed “The Future of Museums in Rapidly Changing Communities”, took place on 20 and 22 May. It focused on how museums are adapting to everchanging audience profiles using their resources, rich heritage and innovation.
On 20 May, invited guests participated in a workshop focused on the ethics of managing a museum. The symposium day on 22 May saw speakers from all over the world sharing about various topics such as addressing the ageing community, raising awareness for minority communities, preserving cultural heritage and staying relevant through creating innovative experiences.
This year’s symposium also featured the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the National Folk Museum of Korea and the National Museum of Singapore, aiming to foster stronger collaboration between the 2 museums.
The event concluded with a canapé dinner where the VIPs, speakers and panellists were invited to a closing party at the Botanical Art Gallery.
PurpleForest has been honoured to serve as the event organiser, supporting the International Museum Day Symposium in 2024, 2023, 2022 and 2021.
