Sustainability Commitment

Last updated: 15 July 2026

PurpleForest Events Pte Ltd is a Singapore-based agency delivering conferences, seminars, award ceremonies, launches and regional meetings for government institutions and industry partners. We recognise that sustainability in events extends beyond the environment to social and economic outcomes, and we are committed to managing our impact responsibly across all three. This statement sets out where we stand today and where we are heading.

Our commitment: PurpleForest Events is committed to planning and delivering environmentally responsible events, reducing our environmental impact year on year, and progressing towards Singapore MICE Sustainability Certification (Bronze) by 2027. This is a formal, leadership endorsed commitment that we apply to every event we deliver, including those for our public-sector clients.

Our approach is guided by the Singapore Green Plan 2030, the STB/SACEOS MICE Sustainability Roadmap (built on the ISO 20121 standard) and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We support the national goals of reducing waste disposed of and moving the industry towards net zero by 2050, and by minimising waste we help extend the lifespan of Semakau Landfill. Where clients provide their own environmentally friendly event guides, we adopt and deliver against them, embedding sustainability into how we scope, quote and deliver every event.

Our Director holds the SACEOS Certified Event Sustainability (CES) accreditation, Singapore’s first sustainability-focused accreditation for the tourism and events sectors. This equips us to apply recognised principles across event planning, procurement and delivery, and to guide our team in embedding them. We are working towards the company-level Singapore MICE Sustainability Certification (MSC), aiming for Bronze Certification by 2027

  • Venues: Where possible, we favour venues with green credentials such as BCA Green Mark Platinum and Water Efficient Building (WEB) certification, and plan layouts to minimise energy use.
  • Catering: Where menus and budgets allow, we favour caterers using local produce (e.g. Farm-to-Table recognised or SG Fresh Produce). We right-size orders, use reusable crockery, and provide water dispensers over bottled water.
  • Materials and collateral: We default to paperless registration and e-tickets, print double-sided on Enhanced Singapore Green Label (SGLS+) paper where needed, reuse generic lanyards, and favour reusable, modular materials over single-use builds.
  • Energy: We set air-conditioning to 25°C or higher in our office and, as far as possible, at venues, in line with the national Go 25 movement. Where practical, we favour energy-efficient lighting (e.g. LED or 3-tick MELS-rated) and switch off equipment when not in use.
  • Technology: We reduce paper with tablets and styluses for site visits, and favour energy-efficient computing equipment, an approach we began before the COVID19 pandemic.
  • Logistics and travel: We consolidate deliveries and plan efficient routes across multiple locations to reduce mileage, trips and emissions, and provide public transport directions in invitations and confirmations, encouraging carpooling or shuttles for less accessible venues.
  • Waste: We apply reduce, reuse and recycle on site, co-locating clearly signed recycling and food waste bins, and work with clients and venues to cut the amount of waste sent for incineration and, ultimately, to the landfill.

Our first certification milestone is about demonstrating commitment and putting practices into action, not formal metric reporting. As we mature towards higher tiers, we are progressively building simple ways to track and improve our impact:

Focus AreaWhat We’re Doing NowBuilding Towards
WasteApplying reduce, reuse and recycle on site to cut waste sent for incinerationObserving waste at events to target reductions over time
ReuseDesigning materials and setups for reuse across multiple eventsRecording what we reuse to improve year on year
Print reductionDefaulting to digital registration and collateralTracking print reduction over time
SuppliersSetting sustainability expectations with our suppliersBuilding a list of suppliers who can meet them

For our clients, this commitment means events delivered responsibly without compromising quality or experience. We help you meet your own sustainability and procurement obligations, including public-sector requirements such as GreenGov.SG, by building environmentally sound choices into every proposal. Where useful, we can advise on greener venue, catering, materials and logistics options, so that your event reflects well on your organisation and its values.

We are honest about where we stand. We began exploring green technologies well before the pandemic and have steadily built more sustainable ways of working into our operations. Our formal accreditation journey is at an early but committed stage, and we will continue to learn, measure and improve, working openly with our clients and partners to deliver events that are responsible as well as excellent.
