The 57th Meeting of the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (SEAFDEC) Council was held from 20 to 22 May 2025 in Singapore, bringing together senior representatives from SEAFDEC Member Countries to deliberate on key regional fisheries priorities and strategic directions. The meeting commenced with an inaugural ceremony, followed by the election of the incoming Chairperson and the formal adoption of the agenda. Over the course of three days, the Council reviewed the Secretary-General’s report, discussed outcomes from the SEAFDEC Programme Committee and the ASEAN-SEAFDEC Strategic Partnership (ASSP), and engaged in policy discussions on a range of critical issues. In addition to open sessions, closed-door discussions were held to address SEAFDEC’s future direction, organisational management, and financial matters, including the review of audited and unaudited financial reports and budget planning for 2026.
